Today’s the first day of spring! My favorite season! Actually, I think I like all of the seasons but Winter haha.

I haven’t been doing very much these days. Playing too many video games, watching too many shows, and going on the internet too much.

I’ve been playing maplestory obsessively, and working on my blanket a lot. :) Still haven’t finished The Hobbit, and I started reading Specials, but I got a little bored like 1/3 through. I picked up This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen at the library last week, so I’ve been reading that all day. I’m already halfway through! I’ll probably finish it in like 3 days.

I really want to cut my hair short, but I’m nervous that it’ll look weird. I tried to get an appointment today, but it didn’t work out. I applied for a job at PETCO this weekned. It’d be fun, but I don’t know if it’ll work out since I’m not 18 yet and I haven’t graduated. Ohwell!

This is a terrible blog post haha SO MUCH RAMBLING. ohwell.

I think I might make a new blog because this wordpress thing isn’t working out so well. I’m getting too lazy! Maybe I don’t even need a blog. My life isn’t that exciting anyway!

I was reading Teen Vogue yesterday and I find it extremely hard to look at the advertisements. They’re all beautiful, but so fake. Just looking at one woman is strange because her face is a perfect gradient. Real people’s skin does not look that way. I saw a picture of Amanda Seyfried, but I almost didn’t recognize her because they had edited her face so much. The products look fake; the backgrounds look fake; the people look fake. I don’t see how people think that is attractive. I like things to look real. Nice, but REAL. I look up to beautiful models and actresses– not to digital artists and photoshop pros. Well, I do, but for different subjects. I don’t understand how other people could degrade themselves and feel down in the dumps because they don’t look like the women in magazines when the people in magazines are so not normal.

This has also been bothering me with all of the Hunger Games press. Jennifer Lawrence is beautiful, but on the magazine covers, she looks like a different person. Super glamorized and her face has been scrubbed clean of every single imperfection. She looks plastic. It’s such a contrast from her videos or her in-person appearances where she makes funny faces and is so real. It’s a crazy world we live in.

My post took on a serious tone, but that’s just what happens I guess. I’m very excited for the movie on friday though. I’m a little worried that I’ll hear crazy reactions at school on friday after the premier and it might ruin the movie for me.

Time to move on!

Hello! I am without Internet today so this entry is coming off my iPhone and onto the blog! I’m not sure how it’ll look but we’ll try.
I visited Boston last week to see Boston college and my sisters! There’s so much to do in Boston. It’s such a fun city. 3 days was definitely not long enough to visit! While in Boston I was able to do some crocheting and I bought a few books too! I’ll post them another day when I have pictures. :)
I started a new blanket!! It’s a granny stripe blanket and I got the pattern from Attic24. I think her crochet items are so beautiful because she uses such cheery and pretty colors! I followed her pattern and examined her photos to figure out how to do it. It’s so fun and I just love it! I’ve been taking pictures of my progress like crazy! Here are a few pictures.

I had the blue and white colors already but then I decided that I needed to make this blanket in all different colors so I went to Michael’s and bought tons of this snuggly wuggly yarn. And I shoved them all in one bag to carry around. :)

And right now I’m relaxing chomping on some haribo gummy bears and crocheting away.

It’s a pretty good day despite the Internet being down. Until next time! ☆彡

How do you decide what book to buy?

I went to Barnes & Noble earlier this week with the intention of buying the second and third Hunger Games books. My sister bought the first book quite a while ago. Apparently though, the paper back versions of the books don’t come out until MUCH after the hard cover books. I like it when the books are all the same height, so I didn’t buy the books. I’ll just wait until the paper backs come out.

I have a $25 B&N gift card that I’ve been carrying around for I think a couple years, but I never buy books. I always just get books from the library. Everything’s there, and they’re free. The other day I bought the Specials book by Scott Westerfeld used at the library, so I thought maybe I’d buy the first two books, ( I really disliked the fourth, so sometimes I pretend it didn’t happen) but they re-did the covers and if I were to buy them, then my books would not match. So I think for those books, I’ll try to buy them used online so that I can get the old cover.

Do you ever buy books? Do you buy a book before you read it, or after you have read it and know that you love it?

I love looking at my bookshelf and seeing the books that I have picked myself line up. It makes me happy, but I don’t have very many series. I have the first book in the series(or the third for Uglies) and no other volumes, which is disappointing.

One of these days I’ll go buy books!

I’ve fallen ill. I have a terrible case of senioritis and as far as I know, there is no cure. The disease will run it’s course until about June I believe. Wish me luck in trying to recover.

I haven’t been doing very much of my homework lately, looking up things i’m supposed to look up, or emailing people I’m supposed to email. Well I just took care of the email, so that’s one thing off the books.

I’ve been working on my blanket a lot recently and i finally have it at its final width. However, now I have to make it much longer. It’ll take a long time, but I’m making progress! I keep running out of my warm colors though, which is upsetting.

I went with my mom today to Michael’s again to buy some yellow and pink yarn. It’s really hard to find bright colored yarns. At Michael’s, they had a bright yellow, but they didn’t have pink. However, they had these really nice magnetic closing boxes, so I bought two of them :) I didn’t take a picture of them though, so maybe another time.

Since Michael’s was a semi bust, we also went to Jo-Ann Fabrics and found the pink yarn and also picked up an orange skein. For use when I run out of the Lion Brand Yarn I am currently using. All of the yarn I bought today was Red Heart Brand, and I think it was on sale at Jo-Ann Fabrics, but not at Michael’s.. oops! I like Red Heart even though it’s a little rough. It’s easy to work with and it comes in large packages which is very convenient. And the color selection is very nice in my opinion. Most of the pinks I saw today were either baby pink, or very sad pink with low saturation. Red Heart was the only yarn that came in bright pink. There was also a Red Heart pink that was sparkly, but that wouldn’t match my blanket so I didn’t buy it. It was called Red Heart Shimmer. Maybe someday the need will arise for such sparkly yarn haha!

Last night my best friend came over and we watched Pride and Prejudice. It’s such a good movie, but if you haven’t read the book it doesn’t make much sense at all. It’s too hard to keep up. I kept giving translations of what was going on. haha. I wish they hadn’t put in so many artistic scenes and instead included more of the story. But alas, that’s not how it was. It was a cute movie, but I definitely think the book is better. You get more of the romance and the drama. But the actor who played Mr. Darcy was indeed very handsome :) and how could I talk about this movie without talking about Keira Knightley? I love her. She’s one of my favorite actresses even if I can’t always understand what she’s saying. She looked so young in Pride and Prejudice compared to the Pirates movies.

I also watched 27 Dresses on tv yesterday. It’s such a cute movie, but I didn’t get to see the end! I’ll watch it again soon hopefully. Today I plan on watching Letters to Juliet. It looks cute, and I hope it’s interesting and not boring, but we’ll see!

I’ll never get any work done watching so many movies and crocheting so  much! But I don’t really mind! :P I’ll pay for this later, but for now, I’ll indulge my senioritis.

On a side note, I beat Dragon Age: Origins! :) The end of the game was tough, but I’m glad I pushed through to finish it. I started another run through as a rogue dwarf. It’s fun and different fighting, but the play through is a little boring since I already did all of it earlier. Ohwell, I probably won’t end up finishing it ever.

And I finished reading Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. It’s brilliant, yet exceedingly strange! I’m glad I read it, but I’m not sure if I was able to fully comprehend what I was reading. It was the most bizarre thing I have ever read I think. And I started reading the 4th Percy Jackson book, The Battle of the Labyrinth. But I think I actually never read it before! oops! How did that happen? Well, better late than never!! :)

There’s just too much to do!! I also started watching Young Justice, but I haven’t gotten through the first episode yet. I hope I can actually finish watching the whole series. I usually don’t. But I can try!

Well, it’s past 3 now, and I think I should probably eat lunch  before it becomes dinner. :P

Trying to be poetic with my title. lol

Why is it so hard to make plans with someone? This has come up so many times with almost all of my friends. We try to get together, but either we can never find a time when both people (or everyone with the large groups) is free or people bail at the last minute. Often times someone is too  lazy to ask their parents for permission or too lazy to just leave their house.

No matter the reason for the delay or lack of hang-outs, it’s always disappointing. I’ll try to keep this in mind next time I don’t feel like going out to meet my friends when they invite me.

In other news, I read all of the hunger games books in less than one week. My favorite was definitely the second book and I’m for team Peeta. The third books was completely and utterly depressing. All of the death made me very upset and hijacked Peeta. So many times while reading I wanted to cry. But I didn’t because I don’t cry while reading books.

Well, after I finished I ran around school for a couple days asking everyone if they had read the hunger games. I wanted someone to talk to it about, but there wasn’t much conversation to be found with anyone. I followed a bunch of hunger games blogs and my tumblr is currently filled with hunger games reblogs. It all makes me happy and I don’t regret it at all.

After finishing the Hunger Games, I decided to finally re-read all of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians books since I never read the last book and I own them all. heehee I have a bad habit of not reading the books I own and instead reading library books. I finished the third book last night. I think I’ll read A Stranger on the Planet by Adam Schwarts before I start reading the 4th book though. My sister gave it to me for Christmas. Adam Schwarts was one of her teachers. I hope it’s an interesting book.

College applications are done and sent. Today’s the last day of Winter Vacation. It’s regrettable, but I think once I go back to school it won’t be so bad. My puppy is coming on Wednesday this week! :) I’ve been looking forward to this so much. His name’s Godzilla. Anyway, I haven’t been doing much studying, and I haven’t done ANY of my homework which is really bad since school starts tomorrow. ;A; I’ll have to work hard today.

I’ve been working a lot on my granny-octagon blanket and now it’s significantly larger than it was previously!! Seeing it spread out on the floor in my room makes me really happy. Here’s a picture of what it looks like now.

and here‘s what it looked like last time I showed an update. I ran out of red yarn, so I didn’t work on it for quite a while. But then I took a trip to Michael’s and went yarn crazy!! I don’t buy a lot of matching yarn, so the weight of the yarns are all kind of different, but I don’t really mind. I think it makes it feel more home made. :) A lot of the yarn was on sale, so I bought quite a bit.

The biggest red yarn package

I’m not sure what i’m going to use all this yarn for since they don’t really match the colors of my blanket, but I’ll figure something out. :) I also ran out of pink and yellow yarn for my blanket, but then I found little bits in different shades. This blanket is so crazy colored!!! But that’s okay! :) It’s become yarn mania in my room, but it’s not that bad haha. In other news, I opened a new skein of my orange yarn but I couldn’t find the inside string, so I just unraveled the whole skein and wound it into a ball. :( One of these days I’ll catalog all of the yarn I have. Coming soon!! :D

I finally finished reading Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen! It took quite a few months since reading on my iphone is a little hard, but once I borrowed my sister’s copy of the book, I read it like the speed of lightning! The book is a little hard to get into, but once you get about halfway through, it starts getting really interesting and you can’t stop. The ending of the book was so happy, I was so glad for all of the Bennet girls! Except maybe Lydia haha.

I also read Keeping the Moon, a book by Sarah Dessen that I bought a while ago second hand, but never got around to reading. I have to admit, it’s not as good as the other Sarah Dessen books I’ve read. It was a very quick read though. I read the whole thing in one day. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t what I was expecting from Sarah Dessen to say the least.

Since it’s a new year, there’s also a new Reading Challenge!! :) Last year I started my challenge of 15 books, then when I finished, changed it to 18 and finally ended up reading 20 books. :) I was never much of a reading until recently, so having goodreads and keeping track of my progress makes me really excited. My goal for this year is to read 30 books. I think I can do it easily. I’ve already finished two books and I’m working on another two right now. and the ebooks available for free help motivate me to actually read some of the classics.

Well, I’ve got to get on with the day, so I’ll just post some more pictures of my blanket. :)

this is my favorite octagon in the blanket.

Why hello there!! It’s been so long since I last wrote here and for that I feel bad. :( Writing on my blog is fun, but I just haven’t felt up to writing a real and good post so let’s try now.

Christmas Eve is today! It came so fast. I feel like I need at least a few more days. I actually didn’t get any presents for anyone in my family! ;A; Guilty feelings. It can’t be helped though I guess. I had a surgery on the 15th which was supposed to be very simple and easy. The doctors said that I would be feeling fine and almost fully recovered by a week, but it wasn’t as easy as it seemed. Bad reactions to tape, stitches, drugs, and here I am more than a week after the surgery still feeling like crap. :( So this past week while all of my classmates were studying hard for finals, I was confined to a reclining chair in the living room watching tv and playing video games. While that doesn’t sound very bad at all, it was quite boring and I can’t wait until I can finally go out on my own again. This is Christmas Vacation! I have places to go and people to see! Well not really, but I’d like to be able to go to starbucks or someplace and visit with my friends. ;A;

I finished reading Trickster’s Queen today. SPOILER![highlight to read] I was expecting Dove to be queen from the beginning of the first book. I knew Sarai wouldn’t be a good queen, but I was very surprised when she decided to run away and get married. Who knew! Anyway, I felt that Aly was stupidly lovesick for Nawat the whole time, but once they got back together it was sweet. Until people were watching them sleep together. That was just awkward. The ending was very abrupt to me and I couldn’t actually envision the battles in the city very well, but maybe that’s just me since I don’t read many action/warring books. Overall, I think I liked the first book a lot better even though not very much even happened in the first book. It just made more sense to me I suppose. I felt like all of a sudden Aly got very old, but she’s still only 17! And the epilogue was terrible….  Wayyyy too abrupt. But ohwell. I still liked it XD

I have an urge to read/watch all of the Lord of the Rings books/movies. I like the medieval setting. I’ve been playing a lot of this game called Dragon Age: Origins. Typical Lord of the Rings ripoff game, but very fun! There are six different starting settings that you can play through. I picked a Dalish Elf which is an elf that lives in like a roaming tribe. The story is very complicated and there’s a lot of talking which is a little annoying, but the story is good. My sister picked a human mage. I’ve probably played too much hahah but it’s fun so OHWELL. :)

I’m also playing DragonVale on my iphone. It’s cute and fun. Lots of waiting though :P If anyone wants to be game center friends, leave me a comment so I can add you! I want friends. lol

Let’s see, I haven’t been doing any crocheting which is regrettable. :( and I wrote a post card to my friend like 2 weeks ago, but never mailed it. ;A; I’m bad at getting my letters to the mailbox apparently… The best way to get into the Christmas Spirit though, is to watch Elf! It’s such a cute movie and Will Ferrell is not so gross for once. I was really surprised when I found out that the main female role was played by Zooey Deschanel. She looks completely different with blond hair. but I don’t really like her very much lol.

Still working on my college applications. :( I have two left but I don’t think my parents know that oops. Almost done with one, and haven’t started the other. ;A; I don’t have any motivation anymore!! I’ve actually been accepted to two colleges already, but I haven’t told many people because my classmates expect a lot out of me for some reason and the stress is definitely unwanted. We’ll see. I don’t actually want to go to these schools that I have left, but I feel guilty for not applying to many schools. 6 done so far, 2 left…

I’m so tired of being sick and taking so much medicine. I hope that I can get better soon. That’s what I really want for Christmas. ;A; BUT Christmas is fun and wonderful. Lots of people give my parents presents so we got a lot of yummy Christmas cookies! I still have cookies to make, but I don’t think I’ll give them to my friends. One of my friends isn’t very considerate, so I never know what to give her for presents. She always gives my presents to her sister. ;A; And last time I gave her cookies, she gave them to my friend who I already gave cookies to when I was right there! sadface. Ohwell, I guess I’ll somehow think of something.

Merry Christmas everyone!! I’ll try to post again soon! :)
