I’ve fallen ill. I have a terrible case of senioritis and as far as I know, there is no cure. The disease will run it’s course until about June I believe. Wish me luck in trying to recover.

I haven’t been doing very much of my homework lately, looking up things i’m supposed to look up, or emailing people I’m supposed to email. Well I just took care of the email, so that’s one thing off the books.

I’ve been working on my blanket a lot recently and i finally have it at its final width. However, now I have to make it much longer. It’ll take a long time, but I’m making progress! I keep running out of my warm colors though, which is upsetting.

I went with my mom today to Michael’s again to buy some yellow and pink yarn. It’s really hard to find bright colored yarns. At Michael’s, they had a bright yellow, but they didn’t have pink. However, they had these really nice magnetic closing boxes, so I bought two of them :) I didn’t take a picture of them though, so maybe another time.

Since Michael’s was a semi bust, we also went to Jo-Ann Fabrics and found the pink yarn and also picked up an orange skein. For use when I run out of the Lion Brand Yarn I am currently using. All of the yarn I bought today was Red Heart Brand, and I think it was on sale at Jo-Ann Fabrics, but not at Michael’s.. oops! I like Red Heart even though it’s a little rough. It’s easy to work with and it comes in large packages which is very convenient. And the color selection is very nice in my opinion. Most of the pinks I saw today were either baby pink, or very sad pink with low saturation. Red Heart was the only yarn that came in bright pink. There was also a Red Heart pink that was sparkly, but that wouldn’t match my blanket so I didn’t buy it. It was called Red Heart Shimmer. Maybe someday the need will arise for such sparkly yarn haha!

Last night my best friend came over and we watched Pride and Prejudice. It’s such a good movie, but if you haven’t read the book it doesn’t make much sense at all. It’s too hard to keep up. I kept giving translations of what was going on. haha. I wish they hadn’t put in so many artistic scenes and instead included more of the story. But alas, that’s not how it was. It was a cute movie, but I definitely think the book is better. You get more of the romance and the drama. But the actor who played Mr. Darcy was indeed very handsome :) and how could I talk about this movie without talking about Keira Knightley? I love her. She’s one of my favorite actresses even if I can’t always understand what she’s saying. She looked so young in Pride and Prejudice compared to the Pirates movies.

I also watched 27 Dresses on tv yesterday. It’s such a cute movie, but I didn’t get to see the end! I’ll watch it again soon hopefully. Today I plan on watching Letters to Juliet. It looks cute, and I hope it’s interesting and not boring, but we’ll see!

I’ll never get any work done watching so many movies and crocheting so  much! But I don’t really mind! :P I’ll pay for this later, but for now, I’ll indulge my senioritis.

On a side note, I beat Dragon Age: Origins! :) The end of the game was tough, but I’m glad I pushed through to finish it. I started another run through as a rogue dwarf. It’s fun and different fighting, but the play through is a little boring since I already did all of it earlier. Ohwell, I probably won’t end up finishing it ever.

And I finished reading Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. It’s brilliant, yet exceedingly strange! I’m glad I read it, but I’m not sure if I was able to fully comprehend what I was reading. It was the most bizarre thing I have ever read I think. And I started reading the 4th Percy Jackson book, The Battle of the Labyrinth. But I think I actually never read it before! oops! How did that happen? Well, better late than never!! :)

There’s just too much to do!! I also started watching Young Justice, but I haven’t gotten through the first episode yet. I hope I can actually finish watching the whole series. I usually don’t. But I can try!

Well, it’s past 3 now, and I think I should probably eat lunch  before it becomes dinner. :P

College applications are done and sent. Today’s the last day of Winter Vacation. It’s regrettable, but I think once I go back to school it won’t be so bad. My puppy is coming on Wednesday this week! :) I’ve been looking forward to this so much. His name’s Godzilla. Anyway, I haven’t been doing much studying, and I haven’t done ANY of my homework which is really bad since school starts tomorrow. ;A; I’ll have to work hard today.

I’ve been working a lot on my granny-octagon blanket and now it’s significantly larger than it was previously!! Seeing it spread out on the floor in my room makes me really happy. Here’s a picture of what it looks like now.

and here‘s what it looked like last time I showed an update. I ran out of red yarn, so I didn’t work on it for quite a while. But then I took a trip to Michael’s and went yarn crazy!! I don’t buy a lot of matching yarn, so the weight of the yarns are all kind of different, but I don’t really mind. I think it makes it feel more home made. :) A lot of the yarn was on sale, so I bought quite a bit.

The biggest red yarn package

I’m not sure what i’m going to use all this yarn for since they don’t really match the colors of my blanket, but I’ll figure something out. :) I also ran out of pink and yellow yarn for my blanket, but then I found little bits in different shades. This blanket is so crazy colored!!! But that’s okay! :) It’s become yarn mania in my room, but it’s not that bad haha. In other news, I opened a new skein of my orange yarn but I couldn’t find the inside string, so I just unraveled the whole skein and wound it into a ball. :( One of these days I’ll catalog all of the yarn I have. Coming soon!! :D

I finally finished reading Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen! It took quite a few months since reading on my iphone is a little hard, but once I borrowed my sister’s copy of the book, I read it like the speed of lightning! The book is a little hard to get into, but once you get about halfway through, it starts getting really interesting and you can’t stop. The ending of the book was so happy, I was so glad for all of the Bennet girls! Except maybe Lydia haha.

I also read Keeping the Moon, a book by Sarah Dessen that I bought a while ago second hand, but never got around to reading. I have to admit, it’s not as good as the other Sarah Dessen books I’ve read. It was a very quick read though. I read the whole thing in one day. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t what I was expecting from Sarah Dessen to say the least.

Since it’s a new year, there’s also a new Reading Challenge!! :) Last year I started my challenge of 15 books, then when I finished, changed it to 18 and finally ended up reading 20 books. :) I was never much of a reading until recently, so having goodreads and keeping track of my progress makes me really excited. My goal for this year is to read 30 books. I think I can do it easily. I’ve already finished two books and I’m working on another two right now. and the ebooks available for free help motivate me to actually read some of the classics.

Well, I’ve got to get on with the day, so I’ll just post some more pictures of my blanket. :)

this is my favorite octagon in the blanket.
