Hello! I am without Internet today so this entry is coming off my iPhone and onto the blog! I’m not sure how it’ll look but we’ll try.
I visited Boston last week to see Boston college and my sisters! There’s so much to do in Boston. It’s such a fun city. 3 days was definitely not long enough to visit! While in Boston I was able to do some crocheting and I bought a few books too! I’ll post them another day when I have pictures. :)
I started a new blanket!! It’s a granny stripe blanket and I got the pattern from Attic24. I think her crochet items are so beautiful because she uses such cheery and pretty colors! I followed her pattern and examined her photos to figure out how to do it. It’s so fun and I just love it! I’ve been taking pictures of my progress like crazy! Here are a few pictures.

I had the blue and white colors already but then I decided that I needed to make this blanket in all different colors so I went to Michael’s and bought tons of this snuggly wuggly yarn. And I shoved them all in one bag to carry around. :)

And right now I’m relaxing chomping on some haribo gummy bears and crocheting away.

It’s a pretty good day despite the Internet being down. Until next time! ☆彡

How do you decide what book to buy?

I went to Barnes & Noble earlier this week with the intention of buying the second and third Hunger Games books. My sister bought the first book quite a while ago. Apparently though, the paper back versions of the books don’t come out until MUCH after the hard cover books. I like it when the books are all the same height, so I didn’t buy the books. I’ll just wait until the paper backs come out.

I have a $25 B&N gift card that I’ve been carrying around for I think a couple years, but I never buy books. I always just get books from the library. Everything’s there, and they’re free. The other day I bought the Specials book by Scott Westerfeld used at the library, so I thought maybe I’d buy the first two books, ( I really disliked the fourth, so sometimes I pretend it didn’t happen) but they re-did the covers and if I were to buy them, then my books would not match. So I think for those books, I’ll try to buy them used online so that I can get the old cover.

Do you ever buy books? Do you buy a book before you read it, or after you have read it and know that you love it?

I love looking at my bookshelf and seeing the books that I have picked myself line up. It makes me happy, but I don’t have very many series. I have the first book in the series(or the third for Uglies) and no other volumes, which is disappointing.

One of these days I’ll go buy books!

I’ve fallen ill. I have a terrible case of senioritis and as far as I know, there is no cure. The disease will run it’s course until about June I believe. Wish me luck in trying to recover.

I haven’t been doing very much of my homework lately, looking up things i’m supposed to look up, or emailing people I’m supposed to email. Well I just took care of the email, so that’s one thing off the books.

I’ve been working on my blanket a lot recently and i finally have it at its final width. However, now I have to make it much longer. It’ll take a long time, but I’m making progress! I keep running out of my warm colors though, which is upsetting.

I went with my mom today to Michael’s again to buy some yellow and pink yarn. It’s really hard to find bright colored yarns. At Michael’s, they had a bright yellow, but they didn’t have pink. However, they had these really nice magnetic closing boxes, so I bought two of them :) I didn’t take a picture of them though, so maybe another time.

Since Michael’s was a semi bust, we also went to Jo-Ann Fabrics and found the pink yarn and also picked up an orange skein. For use when I run out of the Lion Brand Yarn I am currently using. All of the yarn I bought today was Red Heart Brand, and I think it was on sale at Jo-Ann Fabrics, but not at Michael’s.. oops! I like Red Heart even though it’s a little rough. It’s easy to work with and it comes in large packages which is very convenient. And the color selection is very nice in my opinion. Most of the pinks I saw today were either baby pink, or very sad pink with low saturation. Red Heart was the only yarn that came in bright pink. There was also a Red Heart pink that was sparkly, but that wouldn’t match my blanket so I didn’t buy it. It was called Red Heart Shimmer. Maybe someday the need will arise for such sparkly yarn haha!

Last night my best friend came over and we watched Pride and Prejudice. It’s such a good movie, but if you haven’t read the book it doesn’t make much sense at all. It’s too hard to keep up. I kept giving translations of what was going on. haha. I wish they hadn’t put in so many artistic scenes and instead included more of the story. But alas, that’s not how it was. It was a cute movie, but I definitely think the book is better. You get more of the romance and the drama. But the actor who played Mr. Darcy was indeed very handsome :) and how could I talk about this movie without talking about Keira Knightley? I love her. She’s one of my favorite actresses even if I can’t always understand what she’s saying. She looked so young in Pride and Prejudice compared to the Pirates movies.

I also watched 27 Dresses on tv yesterday. It’s such a cute movie, but I didn’t get to see the end! I’ll watch it again soon hopefully. Today I plan on watching Letters to Juliet. It looks cute, and I hope it’s interesting and not boring, but we’ll see!

I’ll never get any work done watching so many movies and crocheting so  much! But I don’t really mind! :P I’ll pay for this later, but for now, I’ll indulge my senioritis.

On a side note, I beat Dragon Age: Origins! :) The end of the game was tough, but I’m glad I pushed through to finish it. I started another run through as a rogue dwarf. It’s fun and different fighting, but the play through is a little boring since I already did all of it earlier. Ohwell, I probably won’t end up finishing it ever.

And I finished reading Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. It’s brilliant, yet exceedingly strange! I’m glad I read it, but I’m not sure if I was able to fully comprehend what I was reading. It was the most bizarre thing I have ever read I think. And I started reading the 4th Percy Jackson book, The Battle of the Labyrinth. But I think I actually never read it before! oops! How did that happen? Well, better late than never!! :)

There’s just too much to do!! I also started watching Young Justice, but I haven’t gotten through the first episode yet. I hope I can actually finish watching the whole series. I usually don’t. But I can try!

Well, it’s past 3 now, and I think I should probably eat lunch  before it becomes dinner. :P
